PacketExchange, the Internet Peering innovator, today announces that ntl has added its name to a list of leading broadband suppliers connecting to the PacketExchange ProXimity Network.

Through joining the ProXimity network, suppliers have access to key US and European peers outside of the public internet with no costly physical connection.  Such direct and dedicated connections ensures that traffic moves much faster than over the internet.

ntl joins other leading broadband suppliers to ensure that over 35% of households are served through the PacketExchange network, bringing popular websites closer to the home user.  With such increased speed and performance guarantees, ProXimity is playing a vital role in the customer service these providers deliver.

Graeme Holt, Finance Director (Networks) at ntl, commented “ProXimity gives us both US peers as well as an aggregation point in the US to meet with additional peering partners.  We now avoid complex and expensive infrastructure based peering arrangements, reducing man hours and costs.”

“Proximity continues to add a new dimension to our customer‘s networks” said Kieron O‘Brien, CEO PacketExchange.  “We are delighted that ntl are using ProXimity to connect directly to the worlds leading content providers enhancing performance for their end users."
