2005-11-24
PacketExchange, the network service provider has been short-listed by the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) for its annual prestigious “European Carrier Ethernet Service Provider of the Year” awards.
The company has been selected as a finalist for the “Best in Business” and “Outstanding Innovation” categories, alongside Abovenet, COLT, Exponential-e, Fibernet and Telstra. This follows a successful year in which PacketExchange has experienced significant growth, recognised in its recent positioning of 14th in The Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 listings of the fastest growing technology companies in Britain.
Kieron O‘Brien, Chief Executive of PacketExchange commented:
“I am delighted with this short-listing for such a high profile award, which reflects the company‘s status as the largest transporter of Ethernet services across Europe and to the US. The commercial successes of our DireXion and Metro DireXion product services have been extremely positive with leading ISPs, such as Telewest, reporting significant improvements on service delivery to end customers. We look forward with anticipation, to receiving the announcement of the winners.”
A judging panel of European press, analysts and the MEF will select this year‘s winners and the awards will be presented at the annual Enterprise Networks Networking Dinner on 30th November.
