Case Studies

PacketExchange provide Bet365 with a one stop shop for feeds from different tier 1 carriers.
The Challenge
Bet365 are one of the UK‘s leading online gaming providers. Customers, all over the age of 18, have historically come from the UK but the company is now beginning to see an increase in international traffic.
Bet365 is dependant on a reliable infrastructure to deliver all the business applications for both their online presence and telephone business.
The company planned to move to a new data centre that was bandwidth independent and thus required a company that could provide the Internet connections needed for the site. A crucial factor was the requirement for significant high capacity Internet connections, diversely routed for the new data centre architecture. They needed a company that could provide a one stop shop that could provide high quality Internet connection from tier 1 carriers.
The Solution
PacketExchange were able to provide these feeds from different tier 1 suppliers and act as a single point interface for support and escalation with these carriers. Not only this, but PacketExchange understood the growth in international traffic. As such, the solution allowed Bet 365 to leverage their MPLS worldwide for further circuits for localised connections for different markets as their international presence grew.
After
evaluation of different suppliers Bet365 chose PacketExchange for 2 x
>500Mb Internet connections at their new data centre facility
because of both price and delivery timescales.
Technical teams
from both organisations worked together to agree scope, timescales and
project plan. This allowed Bet365 to have visibility of when they
needed to purchase the network equipment and provide resource to light
up the connections within their data centre architecture.
The Result
The new, higher capacity network for Bet365‘s main web site is faster and more reliable with Internet delivery from tier 1 carriers rather than bandwidth from their co-location provider. They now have a much greater control over the delivery of their Internet bandwidth.
“PacketExchange were able to handle the whole provisioning side of things which meant we could focus on the specific technical details pertinent to out Internet architecture which in the past has cost many man hours chasing up Telco providers” said Chris Tolson of Bet365. He added “We were keen to operate within the professional process adopted by PacketExchange.”
